Celebrating 40 Years of Producing Results
Video Law Services is a team of experienced former TV journalists and photojournalists who specialize in producing compelling legal video presentations for mediation and trial.
Since 1985, we’ve worked alongside attorneys to help clearly communicate liability, damages, and the real-life impact of injuries. We understand that while the audience may be small - a mediator, judge, or jury - the decisions they make are life-changing.
We’re proud to be a trusted member of your trial team, helping ensure your client’s story is seen, heard, and understood. Our expert storytellers craft powerful Settlement Documentaries, Day-in-the-Life videos, and other visual evidence tools that deliver results.

Michaela Miller founded Video Law Services, Inc. in 1985 after a decade as an award-winning television journalist. A true pioneer in the field, she helped shape the forensic video movement in the legal industry, producing thousands of Settlement Documentaries and Day-in-the-Life Documentaries - several of which have contributed to precedent-setting case results.
Her work has earned over 50 national and regional awards, recognizing her commitment to high-quality storytelling that supports attorneys and their clients across the U.S.
In 1986, Michaela produced Legal Video Documents, one of the first instructional video series teaching attorneys how to use video effectively in litigation. It was approved for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit in Florida.
She is a contributing author in several respected publications, including Witness Preparation by V. Hale Starr (Aspen Law & Business, 1998), The Deposition Field Manual by John Romano (PESI, 2003), and A Fuller View: Buckminster Fuller’s Vision of Hope and Abundance for All by L. Steven Sieden (2012).
When she’s not behind the camera, Michaela enjoys organic gardening and traveling. But her greatest passion remains helping others by telling their stories with clarity, care, and compelling visuals.

Bobby Thomas is an award-winning photojournalist who began his career at WJXT, once the most powerful CBS affiliate in the country. During his time in television news, he worked alongside national figures like Dan Rather, Steve Kroft, and Susan Candiotti, earning prestigious honors including Emmys, Tellys, Pixies, DVs, the Edward R. Murrow Award, and the coveted Peabody Award, which led to his induction into the Broadcast Hall of Fame.
Bobby joined Video Law Services in 2000 and quickly rose to Vice President, where he oversaw production and trial work. In 2025, he was named Managing Partner & Director of Photography, leading the team and setting the visual direction for each case. His signature style and stamp of approval can be seen in every Settlement Documentary and Day-in-the-Life video produced by VLS.
He has spent over 12 weeks in close collaboration with Hale Starr, the renowned trial and jury consultant, and applies that invaluable experience as a seasoned trial tech — ensuring each case leaves a lasting visual impact on juries. His integrity, professionalism, and ability to "capture the big picture" have made him a sought-after expert by trial attorneys nationwide.
Bobby has presented at numerous legal conferences and trial lawyer events in Nashville, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and throughout Florida at AFTL and FJA events.
Proud of his country roots, Bobby often says he grew up "from boots to suits" — and draws on that lived experience to connect authentically with injured clients. He believes he has the best job in the world: creating meaningful visual stories that make a real difference in people’s lives.
When he’s not working, Bobby enjoys gardening and spending time with his wife, Christina, and their loyal pointer, Rex.
